This rare Fenton Glass Vase is a nice addition to any Fenton Collection! They are hard to find the 4″ Triangle Vase in topaz due to them only being produced for a couple of years. The color is GORGEOUS opaque topaz yellow with an iridescent shine. These vases were produced by Fenton from 1941-1944 and are the Topaz Hobnail 389 series. This vase would add personality to any collection.

The best feature of this vase is the bright UV glow under black-light! The ability to glow comes from uranium, which is added to the glass mixture, along with the color, during the molten period of glass making. Vaseline glass was at its most popular from the 1880s to the 1920s. If you are wondering where the term “Vaseline” comes from, this type of glass can have a similar quality to the look of light yellow petroleum jelly. The daytime (non-glowing) color is just fabulous, especially if you like a lemon yellow. The level of radioactivity from the uranium is considered “negligible” according to most collector websites, but given that they do have a small amount of uranium, today they are enjoyed for decorative use versus serving consumables.

Condition: The vase is in great condition. Our Fenton pieces are lightly cleaned but may have a few minor, & normal wear marks on the paint or glass, but nothing remarkable. Most can be easily removed with the proper cleaning method (BE CAREFUL with hand/painted pieces as many cleaners can remove/destroy the paint!)

There are no cracks, chips, or structural scratches that we noticed unless noted in our description.
